Freeplay is a fraud that old school rs gold many have discovered in the past month. Mainly due the the large number of bots and sucks running a muck, making actually playing near impossible. Freeplay happened just two years ago. I played that for almost 2 years however it was not like the current situation. It comes down to one key change: free trade.
In all truth, freeplay does not require the use of a free trade. Jagex says no. Freeplay, after all, is a pathway to members and which is the full version. You can argue with me, however free players will always be lower up the hierarchy of totems. You should consider the advantages of offering trading for free to everyone:
It would increase the enjoyment of playing and make it less likely to be hacked. While there probably would still be some (it is unlikely to get to the levels it was before the introduction of free trade), it would make the game playable again. It could be referred to as traditional by some, but getting scammed is not a problem and those who are younger are more likely to not be taken into.
Members would benefit from the advantages of trade-in-trade, which would make it more appealing to them to join. In addition to having the best gameplay, this would encourage them longer to play. This would not be popular with freeplayers though, as it would likely mean that the wilderness would be removed again. The PvP World could be reinstated at their site to allow free play. This would give players who like them to the Wildy an area to play PK.
The largest damage I believe could be caused to Jagex's integrity. It would be an important step in making the game more enjoyable. However, players could view it as being indecisive or even deceiving themselves about the purpose of returning the wilderness. From a business perspective, it is evident that those who get angry and buy OSRS gold quit are almost always free players who don't produce as much revenue long-term.
