This event is made for hotels and partners to discuss how to reduce their plastic waste in Cambodia.
The Cambodian tourism sector, and hotels in particular, are responsible for tonnes of plastic waste. Such waste has environmental, social but also economic consequences for the country. In 2015, the Cambodian Hotel Association estimated that poor sanitation, including poor waste management, was responsible for USD 74 million of foregone annual revenues. Plastic waste is therefore threatening the long-term survival of tourism.
But, hotels can make a difference and decide to LEAD on fighting plastic pollution. Doing so can not only benefit the country, but also increase their visibility as consumers are increasingly looking for places reducing their plastic waste.
Event agenda: There will be presentations and discussions to reflect on the actions that can be implemented to reduce plastic use and other actions to reduce hotels' impact. Suppliers and partners that can help you to reduce your plastic waste will also be there to present their products. More details on the agenda will follow.
For who? The event is open to any hotel managers, as well as partners that can help them reducing their waste. Please confirm your attendance by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
