Warlords of Draenor, the next expansion in World of Warcraft WoTLK Gold, was only just announced on Friday, however the follow-up to it is in the works, Blizzard tainment president Mike Morhaime told Polygon in a new interview. The company is expected to speed up the rate at which it releases new content for the MMO as a way to keep players coming back on a regular basis.
"It's going to be on us as well as our development team to continue to look at ways to improve the game and stay relevant," Morhaime said. "And explore new methods of retaining players' interest within the game. We see expansions as being the perfect opportunity to do that.
"We know that we're required to release these on a more rapid pace than we did in the past," he added. "So the company is investing into the team and resources to enable us to accomplish this."
Morhaime announced last week in the Activision Blizzard earnings call that Blizzard has more resources dedicated for World of Warcraft now that it ever has in the history of the franchise.
World of Warcraft currently has 7.6 million registered cheap WoTLK Classic Gold players, down just 100.000 from the prior quarter, but still below the 10 million it received following the launch of Mists of Pandaria in the year before. Morhaime said Blizzard has adjusted the way that its World of Warcraft development team is organized to allow them to constantly look ahead to the future of the MMO.
